THROUGH THEATRE

Welcome to Peer Productions

At Peer, we're dedicated to transforming lives through the power of theatre.

Here's how we do it:

Training the Next Generation: Through our Peer Actor Development Programme (PAD) and Peer Employment Pathway Programme (PEP) for those with learning disabilities , we nurture young actors and theatre-makers aged 18 - 24, providing them with the skills and confidence to thrive in the industry.

Engaging School Audiences: Join us on a journey as we bring our original plays to schools across the South East of England. Our productions are not just performances; they're educational tools that support the National PSHE curriculum and encourage students to reflect on important issues affecting their lives.

Projects that Drive Social Change: Beyond the stage, we use theatre as a catalyst for social change. Our projects in schools and communities spark conversations, challenge perceptions, and inspire action, creating a ripple effect of positive transformation.

Peer Production’s touring shows and interactive projects are made with, by and for young people t0 support and enhance the National PSHE Curriculum.

The work we do focuses on the issues that matter most to young people and our unique approach puts young people at the centre of every stage of the creative process. We use peer education and theatre to empower three separate groups of beneficiaries: the young actor peer educators on our Actor Development Course, young audience members at the schools they visit, and disadvantaged project participants who may have particular access or learning requirements.

OUR OUTREACH PROGRAMMES USE THEATRE TO TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT OTHERWISE HAVE ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY ARTS PRACTICE.

We believe that all young people have the right to high quality drama outreach programmes that can build their self esteem, improve their communication skills and help them to navigate the challenging world around them. By taking part in workshops and creative theatre activities young peoples’ lives can be transformed.

We are especially passionate about providing opportunities for young people who may not otherwise have the chance to explore their creative skills and we specialise in projects where creativity can be a catalyst for social change.
