Arts Award

Peer Productions is a registered Arts Award training centre and is home to two Arts Award Advisors (Bronze, Silver and Gold) Nina Lemon and Claire TristramNina Lemon is also an Arts Award Moderator.

Peer Productions full time volunteers have the opportunity to undergo an Arts Award Gold Certificate and members of the youth theatre can take a bronze of silver certificate.

The Arts Award Gold requires each participant to undertake a leadership project of their choice.  The aim of the project is for the young person to lead others in way they have not done before, either by writing and/or directing film or theatre for the first time, writing and performing theatre, choreographing or any other project they wish in agreement with their advisor

Previous leadership projects have included:

Short films on topics such as drugs, ageing and theft

Choreographing a new dance piece

A full scale two act musical 'Young at War' which premiered at the Rhoda McGaw Theatre in Woking

Directing of a two-handed theatre production

Writing and organising a comedy night

These projects always prove to be a great source of inspiration for participants and a chance to try something new for themselves!
