Branching Out (Woking) – Drama for Year 6 Transition
Branching Out is a supportive, creative drama programme from award-winning theatre charity Peer Productions, designed especially for Year 6 children in Woking who may be feeling worried about the move to secondary school.
Across five sessions in Year 6 and five follow-up sessions in Year 7, the project uses drama games, storytelling and playbuilding, with children taking part in creative activities that help them explore change, build confidence, and make new friends. The programme explicitly focuses on the transition to secondary school and is designed for children who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or unsure about what’s ahead.
Sessions take place at Peer Place in central Woking and are led by fully DBS-checked, professionally trained facilitators, with specialist experience working with neurodivergent children and those with SEND.
Referrals are welcome from teachers, social or family workers, and parents/carers for children they feel would benefit from extra support at this important moment.
