Holiday Projects
Frequently asked questions
How much do holiday projects cost?
Our four day programme is priced at £200. This is a cost subsidised by our charity. This fee includes provision from 10am - 3pm for four days. It also includes snacks and a hot meal provided by our partner caterers. Our staff ratio is at least 1:4.
Do you have free places?
We normally work with Active Surrey to access the HAF scheme. This is a scheme where young people from Surrey aged 8-16 years who have an EHCP and whose families are in receipt of universal credit are able to access free places. We have applied for this scheme again and are awaiting approval for funding. If you register your interest, we will let you know when HAF places go live.
Does my child need to come every day?
This project is designed as a four day program and culminates in a performance for friends and family. We ideally therefore would like all participants to attend all four days. However, if your child is new to the program and finds that it is not a good fit for them, we will refund any remaining days.
Do you have experience working with young people with disabilities?
Yes. Our comapny has extensive experience working with children and young adults with special educational needs.
What kind of disabilities can you accommodate?
The course is designed for children and young people with moderate learning disabilities. Some participants might attend a mainstream school but have additional support and others might attend a special school. Young people attending might be Autistic or have a range of learning disabilities including but not limited to Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Fragile X and global developmental delay.
We do not usually provide personal care support or one to one provision. If you think your child might need this kind of support please contact us to discuss.
Our venue is lift accessible but please get in touch with us if your child uses a wheelchair so we can make sure we can meet their needs.
What is your planned staff ratio?
1:4
What if my child is fussy about food?
Don’t worry. We get it. Sensory needs can make meal times a struggle for many young people. Our caterer is a parent of Autistic children and is very good at making food which is both nutritious and accessible. We will ask for detailed information about your child’s food preferences and whilst we will encourage them to try new things, we will make sure safe foods are available. If your child needs to they can also bring their own food.
